On our servers you have the option of using different versions of PHP. The default version can be easily be changed by using the PHP Configuration option in cPanel.

Please note, when using the PHP Configuration option in cPanel, this will be an account level change. This will affect all domains and sites on the account.

As of 11/14/2019, PHP versions can be changed up PHP 7.3.

Switching PHP Version

  1. Click Sign Up / Log In at the top of this page.

  3. Enter your username and password, and click Log In.
  4. On the Home page, scroll down and click the word Software or the [ v ] arrow symbol on the right side.
  5. Click the Select PHP Version button, which is next to Installatron Applications Installer.
  6. On the Select PHP Version page, select the PHP Version you want from the drop-down menu. Then, click Set as current.

Your PHP version will be updated instantly. To check if the changes has taken effect, you can check the Current PHP version at the top of the page.

Some additional information

If you want to specify which PHP extensions you want enabled, check or uncheck their corresponding boxes and click Save at the bottom of the page. If you want to just enable the default PHP extensions, click Use Defaults.

If you want to modify any of the PHP Options, click the Switch To PHP Options at the top-right corner of the page. On the next page, make the changes you want by clicking the values and typing/selecting your options. Then, click Save.

You can also view your current PHP version and other settings in your phpinfo.php file. To view the file on your browser, type the file's web address (url) in the browser address bar. If you placed it in the public_folder, the URL will be http://yourdomain.com/phpinfo.php.

Changing PHP settings

In addition to changing the PHP version from cPanel, you can change various PHP settings. You can enable and disable PHP extensions, as well as configuration directives such as allow_url_fopen, error_log, and many more.

This feature removes the need to configure and maintain custom php.ini files. Instead, you control all PHP settings directly from cPanel.

To change your PHP settings, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to cPanel.
