Klairs rich moist foaming cleanser review

Facial cleanser uses a combination of amino acids, fruit and herbal extracts such as pineapple and tea tree oil, along with hyaluronic acid, olive oil and ceramides to gently get rid of dirt, excess oil, makeup and other debris on face without stripping it of moisture.

Not sure if I have ever mentioned this in previous post, but foam cleansers are typically at the bottom of my list when it comes to choosing/buying cleansers.

I have found many foam cleansers to be quite harsh on my skin, and have a tendency of leaving my skin squeaky clean. To be honest, I’m not sure what prompted me to purchase this foam cleanser, but I did it anyway. The Dear Klairs Rich Most Foaming Cleanser was one that I wanted to try, but also hesitated to simply because it was a foam cleanser. BUT! Since most Dear Klairs products have worked well for my skin, I thought.. why not?

Quickie

The Good

  • Affordable foam cleanser that doesn’t leave skin feeling tight
  • Nice soothing feeling and you can tell that it has some moisturizing effects – my skin didn’t feel squeaky clean, but it felt refreshed after using it

The Bad

  • Doesn’t work well when it comes to removing makeup – I would only use this as a morning cleanser, and maybe as a second cleanse but probably only if I were to run out of other gel cleansers

Will I repurchase this?

It’s an affordable foam cleanser, that doesn’t strip my skin of its oils. I may repurchase this again, if I needed only a daily cleanser. However, since I do wear sunscreen/makeup from time to time and require a double cleanse I would be more likely to purchase a gel cleanser over a foam one.

Packaging

Cleanser comes in a pump form – something typically seen in foam cleansers. Only gripe I have about these types of containers is that it’s hard to make sure you’ve used up ALL the product. This one does open up quite easily for you to check though!

Ingredients

I’ve decided that I’m no longer rating ingredients since, well I’m not an expert in this field!

Water, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Glycerin, Propylen Glycol, Lauric Acid, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sodium Hyaluronate, Dimethyl Sulfone, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycyrrhiza Glabra [Licorice] Root Extract, Betaine, Stearic Acid, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Ananas Sativus[Pineapple] Fruit Extract, Chlorphenesin, Melaleuca Alternifolia [Tea Tree] Leaf Oil, Illicium Verum [Anise] Fruit Extract, Citrus Paradisi [Grapefruit] Fruit Extract, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Panthenol, Citric Acid, Pyridoxine, Linum Usitatissimum [Linseed] Seed Extract, Hibiscus Esculentus Fruit Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Arctium Lappa Root Extract, Hibiscus Mutabilis Flower Extract, Corchorus Olitorius Leaf Extract, Hydrolyzed Pea Protein, Lecithin, Olea Europaea [Olive] Fruit Oil, Phytosterols, Squalane, Butyrospermum Parkii [Shea Butter], Ceramide NP, Propanediol, Apium Graveolens [Celery] Extract, Brassica Oleracea Capitata [Cabbage] Leaf Extract, Brassica Oleracea Italica [Broccoli] Extract, Brassica Rapa [Turnip] Leaf Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa [Carrot] Root Extract, Oryza Sativa [Rice] Bran Extract, Solanum Lycopersicum [Tomato] Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panax Ginseng Callus Culture Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Beta-Glucan, Papain Wishtrend

Texture

The foam is quite airy but also watery – which makes it easy to apply!

Application

Since the texture of the foam is on a more watery side, it made this easy to apply and spread around the face. It’s quite interesting how even though this product does foam up, it turns into a watery texture quite easily.

I usually use 1.5 to 2 pumps – this is usually enough to cover my entire face and make sure I’ve used enough to fully clean my face.

Effectiveness

While I can’t say how well this cleans your face on a microscopic level, I can definitely say this foam cleanser does not strip your skin of its oils. It’s one of the most gentle cleansers I have tried.

Only downside is, I don’t think this cleanser does a great job as a second cleanser because I tend to still find residue from my makeup after using this when I use toner or cleansing water with a cotton pad.

I don’t think this deeply moisturized my skin, but it did leave it feeling refreshed and hydrated. I wish I could say more about this, but there isn’t much to say when it comes to a simple day-to-day cleanser that’s not meant anything else other than simply cleansing!

Is Klairs rich moist foaming cleanser good for dry skin?

We don't often recommend foaming cleansers, but this is an incredibly gentle, hydrating exception. Using a unique amino acid formula to create the foaming action, this cleanser from Klairs is suitable for all skin types, including dry and sensitive skin.

What is the pH level of Klairs rich moist foaming cleanser?

This cleanser is a hypoallergenic face wash containing low irritant amino acids instead of chemical detergents, making it suitable even for sensitive skin types. For dry skin types, hyaluronic acid, olive oil, ceramide 3 and a low pH of 5.5 maintains the skin's moisture level and prevents it from feeling dry.

Is foamy cleanser good?

Gentle foaming cleansers are also great as the second step in a double cleanse because they eliminate any oil that the first step might deposit. Foaming cleansers are gentle as well. With a pH level that is close to the skin's they can clean deeply without stripping the natural oils and moisture from the skin barrier.
