I turned it off because I normally do not want it on, but now I need to use it and do not remember what I did to turn it off. Thank you.

The exact method differs between laptop models, but for the most part, just hold down the "Fn" button on your keyboard, and look for which function key (F1-F12) has an icon of a camera on it.

Thank you so very much for your help. I checked all the keys and didn't see a camera. I checked the device settings in the Control Panel and didn't see a camera. Then I looked very closely at the computer in bright light (since it is black it is hard to really see it) and discovered that it doesn't have a built in webcam. I am embarrassed. It must have been my last laptop that had the camera that I shut off. I really appreciate your fast response. I am sure that it would have worked if my computer had a built in webcam. Thank you again!
Why is my Lenovo built in camera not working?Find the button on your keyboard that shows a camera with a strike through it, usually the F8 key. Tap this button and you should be able to use your camera again. Scroll down until you see Camera Privacy Mode and make sure it is Off. You should be able to use the camera now!
Why is my camera not working on my laptop Windows 7?If the camera is not recognized correctly in a Windows 7 environment and the cause is unknown, follow the procedures below to delete the camera's device driver, and then reinstall it. Use a USB cable to connect the camera and the computer. Depending on the camera model, a USB cable may not be included with the camera.
