Note that the H110M Pro-VD Plus is a very low-end motherboard model, with a comparatively weak CPU VRM [voltage regulator module], and no VRM heatsinks whatsoever. Usually, putting the highest-end CPU onto a low-end board model . You are lucky in a way that this platform is seven years old, and the best CPU was the 7700K, a mere 4-core/8-thread CPU that you could maybe push to 150W power draw with Prime95. But from 9th gen CPUs onwards, this would be a recipe for problems.

So yes, if you update the BIOS [use the newest version], even this board should just about be ok for a 7700K, provided your CPU cooler is adequate. But for future systems, i would always advise to match the board model to the CPU model somewhat. Don't get a low-end board model like this when you want to one day upgrade to a high-end CPU like an i7. Because nowadays, any i7 can go way past 200W power draw already. And this would pose a problem for a VRM like this.
