Usually, it's said as a joke when someone does something dumb. They know it's dumb but they say "this is for science" as if to explain that they're doing the dumb thing in order to add to our general scientific knowledge.

For instance:
A: "Are you really going to put the entire bottle of hot sauce on your eggs?"
B: "Yes. For science."
The joke is that if he eats it, then the world of science will find out what happens to a person who eats an entire bottle of hot sauce at once. A:It means that what science considers to be correct, that is, facts or the right answer, is always changing because of new knowledge and new discoveries. A:Sciences can be split into 'Hard sciences' and 'Soft sciences'.
Hard sciences:  化学、生物学、物理学。。
Soft sciences: 心理学、社会学。。 A: your level of understanding in topics of science.

I didn't mean to confuse you.

Regular literacy (not science literacy) is normally regarding your ability to read and write.

But some example of science literacy are:
-Being able to understand the periodic table
-Knowing if something is an acid or a base
-Understanding scientific notation

Does that help? A:It means that there are always people who criticise and doubt science. A:1- In the 1950s, the U.S. lagged behind the Soviet Union because the country did not have a well funded science program.
2- China's well funded science program has led to many break-throughs in the field of medicine.
A:"I loved taking science classes in high school. Biology, Chemistry, Astronomy, you name it!"
A:"Science is so advanced these days it's scary."
"I've never been good at classes having to do with science."
"It's just the science of love, I guess."
"I want to be a scientist" (Someone who studies science) A:Science is the study of all things in a sistematic and consistent way. Knowledge is something you know.

"He has a lot of knowledge on the subject" meaning that he knows a lot about something.

"Biology is a science where we study all living things and the way other factors affect them" this sentence doesnt imply you know anything about it (except what it strictly is) A:A science: "A science I find interesting is..."
The science: "The science I find the most interesting is..."
Science: "I find science interesting."
A:If you flunk a class then that means that you failed it. If you drop out of a class that means you didn't actually do the class so you didn't pass or fail the class. A:@jokifreek Without so

Never before had science publicly altered the ways in which individuals viewed their common world.

- It is the FIRST time that science has done this.

With so

Never before had science so publicly altered the ways in which individuals viewed their common world.

- So is used to add emphasis. It also implies that something similar may have happened before.  It is possible that science already altered something, but this is the first time it has happened in such a public way. A:Hello, I would like to apply for the pure and applied science program (2 years) for the winter 2021 semester, but I have no idea what the first step I need to take in order to get into the program is.

I think this sounds more natural.

Im not sure what pure and applied science program is, so I cant tell if thats a translation or not.

Winter 2021 semester or winter semester 2021 both are okay.

When making a statement instead of asking a question, we separate the what is.
What is it?
I dont know what it is.

I hope that helped and please let me know if you have any more questions ️ A:I'd go for Linguistics I have never heard of language sciences being used. A:It's good but you could say...
"You take the science part and assign someone to do the math part." That sounds more natural A:I had a joined science show. The scientist put fire in my hand and I was surprised! A:X-rays can be either a type of electromagnetic wave, or a medical exam which uses electromagnetic waves to see inside your body! A:"I am interested in medical science in particular; I want to become a successful doctor and scientist at the same time. However, since University of X (insert the college/uni name here, it's more formal) doesn't have a medical department, bioscience is the closest field of study to my interests." A:"the" is unnecessary in this case, you could instead say...

"We shouldn't reject pure science, sir" or
"We should not reject pure science, sir" or
"We must not reject pure science, sir" or
"We shall not reject pure science, sir" (less common)

You could also put the 'sir' first such as in: "Sir, we shouldn't reject pure science, these are facts we are dealing with."

Also, "sir" is not always appropriate for the situation, so it depends who you are talking to and in what context.
