Summary of impact: Between 03:52 UTC and on 06:21 UTC on 19 Oct 2022, you were identified as a customer using Azure Databricks in East US 2 who may have faced authentication failures with error_code: "TEMPORARILY_UNAVAILABLE","message":"Authentication is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. [TraceId: -]" when attempting to login to their resources. Also, all API requests will fail with a 5XX error. Running jobs and clusters will not be an issue. Resolved Minor Azure Front Door - Connectivity issues
Starting at 16:10 UTC on 07 Sep 2022, customers using Azure Front Door could be experiencing connectivity issues. This could also be impacting customers’ ability to access the Azure Management Portal. We are investigating a spike in traffic as a potential cause. While we are not currently observing any traffic spikes currently, we are working on remediating the residual impact. We are recovering a number of nodes that are showing intermittent connectivity issues. For customers who are experiencing connectivity issues, retries are likely to be successful. Most customers should be seeing recovery at this stage.

Resolved Minor Azure Front Door - Connectivity issues
Impact statement: Starting at 16:10 UTC on 07 Sep 2022, customers using Azure Front Door could be experiencing connectivity issues. This could also be impacting customers’ ability to access other Azure services that leverage Azure Front Door, this includes the Azure Management Portal and Azure CDN. We are investigating a spike in traffic as a potential cause. This traffic spike subsided at 16:45 UTC and we are currently working on remediating the residual impact.Current status: We are recovering a number of nodes that are showing intermittent connectivity issues. These issues were caused as our system automatically balanced traffic in between 16:10 and 16:45 UTC. This traffic management ended up overloading a number of our nodes. We are dealing with by load shedding some of the traffic where we this overload, and then slowly bringing up nodes into a healthy state and then routing traffic accordingly. For customers who are experiencing connectivity issues, retries are likely to be suc...

Resolved Minor Azure Cosmos DB - North Europe - Investigating
Impact Statement: Starting at 09:50 UTC on 07 Sep 2022, a subset of customers using Azure Cosmos DB in North Europe may experience issues accessing services. Connections to Cosmos DB accounts in this region may result in an error or timeout.Current Status: We have identified an internal service operation that we believe is causing aggressive retries from many clients, leading to an overwhelming number of connections. This caused a subset of nodes in a single Cosmos DB cluster to become unavailable, which led to remaining nodes on the cluster to reach and operational threshold and become unavailable. We are working with the relevant internal service teams to prevent their impact. Given that our investigation and mitigation activities are still ongoing, we are still recommending that impacted customers running critical workloads manually failover operation to a nearby region, if their Cosmos DB is configured to use multiple regions. We will provide our next update by 19:45 UTC [45 minu...

Resolved Minor Azure customers running Canonical Ubuntu 18.04 experiencing DNS errors
Starting at approximately 06:00 UTC on 30 Aug 2022, a number of customers running Ubuntu 18.04 [bionic] VMs who have Ubuntu Unattended-Upgrades enabled would receive systemd version 237-3ubuntu10.54. A bug in this version will lead to DNS resolution errors. Reports of this issue are confined to this single Ubuntu version. This bug and a potential fix have been highlighted on the Canonical / Ubuntu website, which we encourage impacted customers to read: //bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1988119A potential workaround customers can consider is to reboot impacted VM instances so that they receive a fresh DHCP lease and new DNS resolver[s]. If you are running a VM with Ubuntu 18.04 image, and you are experiencing connectivity issues, you can evaluate the above mitigation options. Our engineering team deployed an auto-remediation for AKS clusters in all regions and noticed a substantial progress with impacted clusters recovering to a healthy state. However, it was deter...
