Chắc hẳn ai sử dụng Microsoft Office [nay là Microsoft 365] đều biết đến Calibri, typeface mặc định trên bộ phần mềm văn phòng nổi tiếng của Microsoft. Nhưng có 1 lỗi ở typeface này là ký tự “Ệ” [một số bản cũ hơn có thêm lỗi trên ký tự “Ộ”] trên 2 styles: Calibri Regular và Calibri Italic bị hiển thị sai dấu mà bạn chắc nhiều lần gặp phải khi gõ đến các ký tự này. Điều này gây ra nhiều sự bất tiện trong sử dụng hằng ngày, đặc biệt là trong các nội dung trang trọng. Đến nỗi bây giờ, người ta tránh dùng Calibri mỗi khi gõ văn bản.
Calibri là một họ font sans-serif kỹ thuật số được thiết kế theo phong cách nhân văn hoặc hiện đại. Calibri được thiết kế bởi Luc[as] de Groot trong khoảng thời gian 2002 – 2004 và được phát hành lần đầu vào năm 2007 kèm theo Microsoft Office 2007 và trên Windows Vista cùng năm. Nó trở thành font mặc định trên Word thay thế cho Times New Roman; trên PowerPoint, Excel… thay thế cho Arial. De Groot đã mô tả thiết kế bo tròn tinh tế của nó là có sự “ấm áp và mềm mại”.
Lỗi ngớ ngẩn này được Microsoft “giữ lại” trong suốt 15 năm như một “đặc trưng” của Calibri, mặc dù đã có rất nhiều lời phàn nàn từ người dùng Việt trên các diễn đàn cũng như Feedback Hub, tuy nhiên tất cả cũng chỉ là sự ngó lơ từ ông lớn. Thậm chí, phiên bản thương mại của font vẫn còn lỗi này trên một số trang như Myfonts, Fontshop… Mãi đến bản cập nhật 22H2 gần đây [09/2022] của Windows 11, Calibri mới chính thức được sửa lỗi.
Hiện tại [12/10/2022], bản Office 365 mới nhất trên MacOS thì font vẫn chưa được cập nhật. Phiên bản font mới nhất hiện tại là v.6.26. Nếu bạn dùng Windows 11, hãy cập nhật lên bản cập nhật 22H2, hoặc bạn có thể tải về ngay Calibri bản mới nhất theo link bên dưới nhé.
