The face shop cc cushion review năm 2024

Even in the beauty world, there’s evolution – what started as a BB cream, which then evolved to CC creams/ BB cushions and now CC cushions. Why, even the Western brands have no choice but to hop aboard this bandwagon [yes! finally, an Asian-led beauty revolution!]. I mean, it really is way more convenient to carry around for touch-ups than a heavy glass bottle and makeup brush right?

Cheeks: Mamonde Bloom Harmony Blusher & Highlighter

Upper eyelid: Nudestix in Twilight

I say…

The Packaging: The usual compact casing with a tray that holds the sponge [and also functions as an airlock to prevent the cushion from drying out] – on a random note, I’m running out of ways to write this description differently hurhurhur.

  • Note: The refill for this is not compatible with that of Laneige/Etude House/Hera/Sulwhasoo.

The Scent: A lightweight refreshing citrus / fruity scent.

The Texture/Finish: It glides onto the skin without pulling or dragging, and sets pretty quickly. Now note that it appears full matte on the back of my hand, but that’s because the hand doesn’t have as many sebum glands/pores as the face. I was slightly miffed when I realised it applied onto the skin with some glow. What’s more, the oil control factor isn’t strong enough to fight the impending grease wave brought forth by my overactive sebum glands. sad face. The photo above was taken barely 2 hours after application, and the shine is quite obvious. After 4 hours, I had a colleague telling me “your face looks…shiny today”. Alas! It’s not oily though – I dabbed with a blotting sheet and it was barely soaked. That aside, the coverage factor is indeed decent – most of the blemishes and dark eye circles were covered up, and there was no oxidisation. I also like that it does bring some hydration to the skin [vs some cover-type cushions that are more on the drying side].

The Verdict: Personally, not a fan of this based purely on the fact that it appears too dewy / glowy on my combi-oily skin. Although the shine can be negated with dabbing of tissue sheets, it does end up taking some of the product with it [think: beige-tinged tissue], and will lead to your foundation/base makeup disappearing earlier than usual. It lasts an okay 4-6 hours [on my oily skin], and pulls the usual disappearing trick instead of oxidising into ugly splotches on my skin. It will be more suitable for those with dry skintypes that have been searching for a non-drying, medium and natural-coverage cushion. Those with combi-dry skintypes can try Missha’s M Magic Cushion Moisture which gives a slightly more matte finish [but still slightly dewy]. I’ve been slightly meh on CC products so far [with the exception of Innisfree’s Sebum CC cream], and unfortunately, this one doesn’t quite help to improve my CC experience. Again, these opinions are based solely on my combi-oily skintype; I’d probably choose the brand’s Oil Control Water Cushion over this one.

I bought this product on a whim when the store lady tried it out on my face. It looked good at the moment, so I bought it, not really looking at the price. First of all, the price is super steep...

This foundation feels very oily and heavy on the skin, and it feels like as if it will never set. Moreover, if you have oily skin stay away from this because it will make you look like an oil slit....

Should I get a cushion foundation?
