The battery life of your smartphone is under a lot of extra strain from apps, social media, music streaming and online video. Whether it's an iPhone or Android with a micro-USB or USB-C input, a power bank will help keep your phone charged throughout the day.

Our interactive comparison table shows the number of devices each power bank can charge simultaneously, whether they can power a laptop and Nintendo Switch, and other useful features and functions such as auto on/off settings, fast charge and USB-C output.

Note: We removed the 'total number of charges' element of our test as we felt it had become arbitrary with the huge range of phones on the market. You can calculate the approximate number of charges yourself by dividing the usable measured capacity (shown in the table) of the power banks you're considering by your smartphone's claimed battery capacity.

After killing 2 large-ish power banks because I didn't use them enough*, I realized I really only needed one to top up my phone when out and about on a long travel day. It really didn't need to power up multiple devices multiple times.

Early this year I bought this small, no cord power bank. I've taken it on 5 trips this year, and it's worked well for my needs. This one is android compatible, but I know there are similar ones for Apple. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BMPGQXT9?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title Edited to add: It's small and simple enough to keep at hand at home to use occasionally, thereby extending its life.

*If you read the info that comes with power banks, as I finally did, they die if not used regularly--like putting them in a drawer between trips.

The wireless power bank is certified by UL, FCC, CE, ROHS and made of flame retardant materials. Please noted: it might produce heat during charging, which is normal as long as it is below 55℃.

I bought the MagSafe battery mainly to use during an intercontinental flight, airports, holidays and for this it has been brilliant. I still find uses for it throughout the week also i.e. streaming, charging APP2, top up toward the night. As long as you're aware that it functions more so as a battery extender than a powerbank per se it could be something to consider?

Have an iphone 13 mini. I would normally charge my iphone in an outlet but if no access, I would use a very old anker I believe 5000 mah powerbank with it. The issue though is this powerbank is really old... at least 5 years old at the absolute minimum but more likely 10 years or more and I'm sure it's older than that. I notice the last time I charged it full, it took several hours at least. Before that, it was much shorter, that means that powerbank is no good right? I remember after taking hours to charge it, the next time I tried to use it which was weeks or maybe a month or two later, there was no power. Back then I remember that was never the case and there was still power on it.
Does this mean this anker 5000 mah powerbank is useless now? I don't have the exact name of this powerbank but I recall it was 5000 mah and it looked like something like below except it's very old. Wouldn't surprise me if this anker powerbank I have is 10 years old or longer.

I use and really like these: I have several of them, I use them everyday to randomly charge my two 15 pro max iPhones. I usually carry two with me daily but only need one as one will charge my 15 pro max at least 3-4 times. I’ve not gone that far to test. They charge quickly and are very reliable. Highly recommend… They recharge fairly quickly as well.

I have an Anker 20,000mAh powerbank and love it.

  • 8

Anker 621 or the Apple MagSafe battery will keep you topped up.

  • 9

The original Apple MagSafe Battery Pack.

This is the one I use, good for basic charging and nice the attached cable can also be used in 'reverse' to charge the power bank itself-

*EDIT- apologies, this is for USB-C as I have iPhone 15 Pro Max just saw you mentioned iPhone 13 after I replied

Got this with the BF deal on Anker. Can't wait to receive it. @georgeram Anker still has some nice BF deals, might be worth to check them out. Lasts until tomorrow iirc.

What about your laptop and if so, which laptop you have?

‘Have a Dell XPS and it does charge it. Not sure if it would bring it to full charge from empty but it would give you hours of extra use. It brought my 12.9 ipad pro from 40% to 100% quickly and had plenty of power left over.

The Anker 737 is heavy and you won’t want to carry in your pocket.

You also have a dell xps? If so, which model? I have the xps 15 9520 with i7-12700H and nvidia 3050.

I don't think it's possible it would give the laptop a few hours of usage though unless you mean xps battery is low?

Say I connect the anker powerbank to my laptop in these 2 situations

Laptop 100% battery. How long would the anker last before it goes out?

Laptop 20% battery. How long would the anker last before it goes out? About how much percentage would it increase the 20% to about? I'm guessing at best 70%?

An ancient white plastic Xiaomi Mi 20000mAh brick that I found at a thrift shop for $5 about ~4 years ago, and a much lighter Nitecore NB20000 that I also use with my Macbooks.
