seems Sockel478`s chipset i845 is missing

I have Intel Chipset D945GCF and Dual-core Intel Core 2 Duo E4300, 1800 MHz (9x200) processor
Which processor can I use to upgrade my computer and support the above mentioned Chipset

i was upgrade my CPU chipset from intel centrino duo to mobile core 2 duo TM.. (both same speed: 1.77ghz)but, my laptop going wrong after few day.. my laptop cannot switch on.. i try to replace the old cpu, but useless.. i tired.. somebody give me a suggest plss... how can i fix that proplem... except sent to service center...

remove your bios battery if you can find it and remove the laptops battery and the power supply for about a minute then it should reset your bios and you should be able to get it to work again

as much as I know:

Pentium4 and Celeron based on Willamett and Nothwood-Core with FSB 400 and FSB533 should work in a i848-based Motherboard (like your)
With one restriction: (HT=HyperThreading) incorporated in the fastest Pentium4 will not work in your board.
Simply choose a Processor without HT.

your limited to a 800 fsb for that chipset so you will be limited to a Pentium D dual core

i have had a Dell D630 with labeled Intel Core2 Duo.
Now the screen didn't work anymore.

So the easy fix was to buy refurbished Dell D630 and just swap the harddisk.
Now this "new" Dell is labeled Intel Centrino Duo.

Is it possible just to swap the old Core2 processor also ?

Pentium D Upgrade

Hi - my Acer P253-E has 8Gb RAM and 750Gb HD but just B830 CPU. I've scoured 'net to no avail for upgrades although Acer did let slip I could fit an i3-Dual Core CPU. Socket type is G2.

The chipset is HM77 (not listed) so could that also support i5 or even i7 processors? If I have to stick with i3, what's the best to fit?

Hello, I have a vaio VGN-TXN25N that currently has a U1500 Core Solo.

It is a BGA479 socket on a i945GMS chipset motherboard. What I want to know is if I can upgrade it to any of the CPUs that are indicated on this site that are compatible with the 945GMS chipset? Specifically I'd like to upgrade it to the L7400 Core Duo.

Is this possible? Does the fact that the L7400 is 667MHZ fsb and the U1500 is a 533MHZ fsb cause a problem?

Does the Pentium 4 support NX?
I need to have NX enabled to upgrade to windows 8.
I can't find if the Pentium 4 support NX.
It seems like it would, since it is not a really old processor.
I understand that to enable it, once I know it is supported, I have to go into the Bios and turn it on.

So first I need to be sure Pentium 4 has the NX feature.

It has an Intel i3-2370m CPU @ 2.4GHz, which I believe to be a socket G2 and I've been told that I can upgrade to the i7-2640M which runs at 3.5GHz as it has a G2 socket also.

second i dought that if i can drill a hole on the socket but on the plastic part and i don't know if that plastic part of the socket can be removed and if there is a way let me know ?

Now what i read on my own i have notice my socket board that it has the letter "LF" now i been checking around for CPU that have the first letter "LF" would that help to check out which cpu would fit my socket mPGA478MT i have seen a lot but i feeling is going on with the "LF" basically what i am saying is that to make it short if my socket number say "mPGA478MT" but it say "LF" as long as the CPU say "LF" it might fit let me know on this ? please and thank u

1. how to achieve maximum upgrades for components
CPU/ SODIMM considering configuration of model Compaq Presario C797EE mentioned at the end.

2. Why there is BIOS ver F.35 for Presario C700 when the latest offered is bios ver F.34 on HP web. Whats the difference. Where can I find both to download with release notes. Does new BIOS on C797EE model enables support processors like Intel Core 2 Duo X9000 and SODIMM PC6400 for 8GB?

3. There is testimony of successful upgrade here. Only difference is its not Compaq Presario C797EE but C771US and was able to upgrade CPU Core 2 Duo T9300. Is there any way to upgrade C700 series (C797EE) to Intel C2d Extreme X9000 CPU's. If not what is max for the chip-set used in C797EE.

4. TDP are different for Intel T9300 and others by 35W to 44W or any other factors, will they effect the upgrade, if yes then please provide list possible latest compatible CPU's with my current chip-set

my vaio vpc f12mgx laptop with cpu i740qm had a problem with main board and i had to change my board with an stock one of vaio vpc f112 , but my CPU i740qm didn't work well and my laptop was hanging in a minute. I tested one and more 740qm, but I had a same problem.
finally I changed it to I7 640m and it worked fine. what's your idea about why cpu with rpga 988 don't work fine but cpu with BGA 1288 work good?

The Chipset is QM67 which is for Sandy Bridge. However I have found a reliable web page indicating that the QM67 also supports the I7-3612QE which is a BGA device. I can find no mention of differences between the 3612QE and 3612QM device capabilities so I am wondering if the 3612QM is known to work with QM67, or if this is a experiment in smoke retention.
