2023 Lexus IS 500 Overview
Lexus expands the IS 500 sport sedan lineup for 2022 with the addition of the F Sport Performance, which, says the company, “dials up the sports sedan formula to 11,” through the addition of a 472-hp naturally aspirated V8 and “ferocious” quad exhaust system.
Performance
The IS 500’s 5.0L naturally aspirated V8 puts out 472 hp at 7,100 rpm and 395 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm. It’s hooked up an eight-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission with lockup torque converter. Custom Mode is also available, offering multiple combinations for powertrain [Normal/Eco/Power], chassis [Normal/Sport] and air conditioner [Normal/Eco].Practicality
Inside, drivers are greeted with black F Sport Performance badging on the heated leather-wrapped steering wheel and door sill scuff plates. It also comes standard with the IS F Sport accelerator pedal, brake pedal and footrest. The combination instrumentation meter receives an updated startup animation that is exclusive. Meanwhile, the Launch Edition interior comes with elevated interior materials, including sporty two-tone Ultrasuede-trimmed front and rear seats, door accents and centre console. Additionally, the heated leather-wrapped steering wheel receives unique silver ash wood treatment with black F Sport Performance badging, and the interior will be appointed with a serialized Launch Edition badge.Value
The 2022 IS 500 has a starting MSRP of $72,900. The model is equipped with convenience features such as a Mark Levinson 17-speaker premium surround-sound audio system, navigatio, panoramic view monitor, triple beam LED headlights and power rear sunshade.
