2023 Subaru Outback Reddit

Make sure you have 0 deductible Windshield replacement on your auto insurance. Subaru OEM glass has been hot garbage for the last 4 years or so and Outbacks are known to just spontaneously crack.

Allow your oil time to warm up to be nice to your turbo (go easy on the gas pedal until your temp is up) and if you drive hard allow your turbo to cycle oil and cool down for 30 seconds to 1 minute before turning your engine off.

Subaru has notoriously soft paint and clear coats. DO NOT use an automatic car wash unless you want swirls and scratches.

Wish they would hurry up and make an Outback entirely out of black cladding. Subaru Outback Apocalypse Edition

level 1

How much you want to bet it will support full screen Android Auto, but they will still refuse to update the 2020+ models...

level 2

It's what makes a Subaru, a Subaru

level 2

Anoyed me so much i switched to iphone

level 2

I strongly suspect this will be true.

level 2

Extremely disappointing, unless its new infotainment hardware too.

level 1

Best part: four-way power lumbar adjustment.

Otherwise… nothing exciting.

Yoshi the cladding design guy is working overtime these days. The world wide cladding mines are nearly empty.

I’m of the school that says clad the entire body and add paint to the current cladded areas.

level 2

The accident avoidance is interesting but not sure if i'd trust it. Wish my incoming 2022 had usb-c. Also VERY interested in the infotainment layout. Looks like the heated seats might be on the main screen w/o a submenu

level 2

Wireless AA and car play will be welcomed additions for most folks. Especially those that are getting the charger. I know several who bought the aftermarket dongle.

level 2

As a Crosstrek owner, I like the cladding (not the WRX). I think the new design looks cool.

level 1

Hopefully that interface update comes to MY20-22 cuz that additional row of controls at the bottom would be much appreciated.

level 2

Second that. It looks like the same infotainment setup on the front end - wondering if its the same hardware?

Can I haz software patch?

level 1

Everyone hates the new front fascia and cladding, and I'm over here like I think it looks really nice...

level 2

Me too! Here I am thinking about how this looks nicer than the wilderness to me

level 2

It looks like Tammy Fay Baker crying.

level 1

As a 22 owner I will say I’m happy with my purchase. I like the look of my front end more than this

level 2

I like the LED fog light design more of the 22 as well

level 2

Fully agreed; my 22 Onyx looks far better. Methinks they had to support the cladding costs on the Wilderness with Onyx volume.

level 2

Same here. I don’t love all the cladding (why I ordered black instead of white) but the uniformity of the 20-22 looks way better than this. It looks like the headlights are eyes that are crying. 😭

Take away the under headlight cladding and I’d like this better than the 20-22. Then again I ordered mine with the sport grill so idk how different it really shakes out to be?

Hey fellas. I've heard a few people on here say that their 2023 model year Subarus are delayed due to a SOS Button issue. Thought I might provide the latest from my dealership in regards to the issue.

Their statement on the issue was that it unfortunately cannot be patched via a software update, but rather must be addressed with replacement hardware. Orders for the new hardware to make these vehicles available to sell are delivered to the dealerships in the order these vehicles were manufactured. Which means it is dependent on when you placed your order as those who placed their orders earlier get the part earlier.

I was told to expect up to 90 days for the part to be delivered, installed, then ready to sell and I am thinking of pulling my deposit.

Has anyone received similar or conflicting information?
