Related services is the term for those services, a child with a disability, as defined in IDEA, needs in order to benefit from special education. It is also available pursuant to Section 504 of The Rehabilitation Act. In IDEA, see 20 USC Section 1401(26) and 34 CFR 300.34. This regulation provides a detailed list of many such services. Section 504 mandates related services in 34 CFR Section 104.33(b)(1).  How many parts are there in idea?The IDEA consists of four parts. Part A contains the general provisions, including the purposes of the act and definitions. Part B contains provisions relating to the education of school-aged children (the grants-to-states program) and the state grants program for preschool children with disabilities (Section 619).
Is speech therapy a related service in Texas?Although IDEA lists speech-language pathology as a related service, in Texas it is considered an instructional service, which means it can be a stand-alone service.
