2023 F250 Tremor

Ford pulled out all the stops when it came to creating the 2023 F-Series Super Duty and the truck will be offered with three different off-road packages.

Kicking things off is an all-new XL Off-Road package, which will be offered exclusively on XL versions of the F-250 and F-350 with four-wheel drive.

Designed to appeal to customers and fleets that need something a bit more rugged than the standard model, the XL Off-Road package adds 17-inch wheels that are wrapped in meaty 33-inch tires. The upgrades don’t end there as the package also includes a raised air dam, skid plates, and water-fording axle vent tubes. Last but certainly not least, there’s an electronic locking rear differential.

Customers with higher-end tastes can opt for the familiar FX4 package. Available on four-wheel drive models, the package adds skid plates, off-road shocks, and all-terrain tires. Buyers will also find hill descent control and an electronic locking rear diff.

Serious off-roaders will want to opt for the Tremor package, which adds unique 18- inch wheels shod in 35-inch Goodyear tires. Other highlights include a front lift, a uniquely tuned suspension, and a Dana front axle with vent tubes as well as a limited-slip diff.

More importantly, the Tremor has Trail Control and a new Trail Turn Assist system. The latter is the star of the show as it increases maneuverability in tight quarters by braking the inside rear wheel. This significantly reduces the turning radius and makes it easy to deal with common trail issues such as rocks, trees, and tight turns.

You read that right. There will be a Super Duty version of Ford’s popular Tremor off-road package for the all-new 2023 Ford F-250. The Tremor package popped up first for the F-150, then the 2023 Ford Maverick small truck, and now the Super Duty. But what does that mean for the biggest Tremor?

Ford’s F-250 and F-350 are all-new for 2023. The new trucks are a new generation of Super Duty trucks for Ford. Ford had a major announcement about the trucks this week, and shared a lot, but not all of the tech specs. Instead, Ford simply whetted our appetites for more info by saying that its engines will be more powerful, even its Power Stroke V8 diesel. The new Super Duty is important for Ford as the revenue from the line rivals the revenue of Southwest Airlines, according to CNBC.

But, the new trucks get a ton of new tech to help these big beasts tow. The trucks get onboard scales to help you level your load, a 360-degree trailer camera system, and the clever Pro Trailer Hitch Assist that automatically backs the truck up to the trailer hitch. The trucks now come with built-in 5G, so they can get over-the-air updates and the hot-spot can power up to 10 devices. We also can’t wait to see the new Tremor version of the F-250, and try out the new standard 4×4 system that is standard on XLT and higher-grade versions

The new Super Duty Tremor gets more than a lift

The Tremor Off-Road Package includes a front-end lift and uniquely tuned suspension. The truck looks the part in Ford’s images, with a tough stance that looks like it can tackle the trails. It comes with a Dana brand front axle with limited-slip differential and axle vent tubes, for fording water. It also has 35-inch Goodyear tires, unique 18-inch wheels, Trail Control, selectable drive modes including a rock-crawl mode and new for this year, Trail Turn Assist, which brakes a rear wheel.

Pricing has not been released. The new Super Duty trucks will be available in the first part of 2023.

The interior gets an upgrade, too

The interior of the new Super Duty trucks gets a much-needed upgrade, too. The new cabin gets an 8.0-inch center display on XL trim and a 12-inch display on the higher-trim levels. You can also order Max Recline seats that fold nearly flat, an Alexa hands-free system, and a B&O sound system. The trucks still come in base XL trim, but BLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited version all get 4×4 standard.

Other cool options, like Pro Power Onboard, are also available.
