And so to the goat. For whom we thank, for the gift of milk to make into a lovely body wash.

Hopes relief eczema cream review

We’ve had a lot of discussion about his little goaty face. What is he thinking about? Does he hold an inner wisdom that we humans can merely dream of? Is he secretly evil? Will we ever get used to being stared at by a goat in the shower?

The goatface-sporting product is from an Australian brand called Hope’s Relief. It’s a best seller in Australia and is newly available in the UK. The company specialises in natural and organic ingredients to help people with eczema, psoriasis and itchy, dry skin.

Award-winning Hope’s Relief was originally created by a naturopath for her own daughter and has been developed over 35 years of research . It’s Australia’s No1 natural eczema cream and is packed with natural active ingredients including: Hospital Grade Organic Manuka Honey NPA 10+, Gotu Kola, Aloe Vera, Organic Calendula and Licorice Root to soothe and repair damaged skin.

The range is suitable for all ages, even for newborn infants. It is free from sodium laurel sulphates, parabens, coal tar, artificial colours and fragrances and contains no mineral oils or petrochemicals.

The Goats Milk Body Wash (RRP £11.40) has a naturally sweet, milky fragrance from the goats milk, shea and cocoa butter ingredients. It produces a foamy lather that won’t dry your skin out after a shower. It’s really very pleasant to use, once you get used to the goat.

Buy it for your nanny, or anyone you know called Billy.

The other product I tried out from Hope’s Relief was their Therapeutic Cream (RRP £16.20). This intensive body moisturiser comes out of the tube a pale beige, whitens on the skin and then is absorbed. It doesn’t absorb instantly; it takes a few seconds, but when it does it leaves skin soft and moisturised with no greasy residue. No goats, either. Sorry about that, goat fans.

Hopes relief eczema cream review

As with the other Hope’s Relief products, the cream doesn’t have any artificial perfumes, but it does have quite a distinctive natural scent which reminded me of an earthy marzipan – sweet and nutty, with an undertone of soil. It’s nicer than it sounds, as long as you like marzipan.

It’s very rich and moisturisng, softening the skin straight away. I used it when I was suffering from itchy skin, and the only place that stayed itchy was my back, because I wasn’t able to reach to apply it round there. I can’t comment on how effective these products are for eczema, but I did find both of these products to be excellent for dry skin, and my itchiness completely stopped when I was using them.
