Dark underarms? They’re pretty normal I’d say. However, if you’ve got dark underarms like me, the OC in you is probably roaring out (well at least that’s the case for me.

Here’s the catch, I’m a guy and I get really conscious about my imperfect, patchy, wrinkly, dark underarms. My pit hair just isn’t enough to conceal the eye sore, like my underarm skin is literally darker than the chunk of curly hair above it. For you safety reasons (LOL!), I won’t be showing pictures of my armpits as you might be grossed out.

Talks aside, I’m here to provide an honest review of Gluta-C Underarm and Bikini Gel.

Price, Progress, Results?

It’s a bit pricier than your regular roll-on deodorant. It is priced at 230.00 PHP (SRP) on Watsons. You can buy a decent (with whitening) deo for less than 100.00 PHP. Is it worth the price difference then?

So, I’ve used this product for more than a month already and sadly, this product is not effective for me. I used it twice a day for about 30 days and I’ve seen no improvement. I was hoping this product would work for me but I hate to break the bad news to you that this product failed to give me even the slightest results (whitening-wise). However, this was an effective “deodorant” for me… but… as I just said above, there are cheaper deos in the market that do their jobs as well.

The Verdict

I actually love other Gluta-C products like their face cream and body scrub but their underarm and bikini whitening gel just wasn’t for me.

I’ll still be looking out for other products to help improve my dark underarms and will keep you posted in case I found something that actually works. Or… maybe you have something in your vanity kit that does a great job at underarm whitening? It’d be nice to hear what underarm whitening products worked for you and I’d definitely try them out.

When I was a tween, I have used this particular deodorant and it left nasty dark brown streaks on my skin. Turned out I was sensitive to Alcohol, which was one of the ingredients of that deodorant. It wasn't that grave, but it still affected my overall confidence. I had to bear with those streaks for as long as I can remember.

Fast forward to 2012.

A couple of weeks ago, I received a loot of this product that was given out during its respective grand launch. One of the formulators of the product was present during the event, and she was kind enough to answer my queries. I asked her if it's really effective and without any hesitation, she replied YES. She said that prior to its market release, it was tested on a couple of women (forgot the exact number) from Luzon to Mindanao and the responses were pretty positive: A huge portion of the group have experienced complete whitening, the others have achieved a more even skin tone, while a few didn't experience any effect at all. But bottomline, a huge number of the group was satisfied with the product.

When I got home, I decided to use it even if I still had reservations about whitening products. I've tried a couple and guess what? They're not effective. But I've got nothing to lose so I gave it a go.

Let's look at the product in detail:

This product promises smoother and whiter underarms in as little as 3 weeks because it's a concentrated product: it wasn't diluted in any way and hence it whitens faster and more effectively.

Methinks it's probably the cheapest underarm whitening product in the market.

Green Tea- hydrates and softens skin; antibacterial

Protein- helps stunt hair growth

It's also nice to know that it is Fragrance- Free, Paraben- Free, and Alcohol- Free, making it safe even for sensitive skin.

Comes in a squeeze tube for hygienic and easier dispensing.

Here's the product: It's an odorless, colorless, milky gel. It gets absorbed by the skin easily, and leaves no trace of stain on your clothes. I also like how it yields a nice cooling effect to my skin. It doesn't make my underarms sweat a lot too. And since it dries up easily, I use it during daytime as well underneath my usual deodorant. During night time, I cleanse my underarms and apply this product on them before hitting the sack.

Here are my results after 1-week (and no- fail) of usage:

A.) Underarms have gotten smoother

B.) Speed of hair growth is still the same, but the strands felt softer and looked finer

C.) Dark Brown streaks have lightened up

So far, these are the changes I've noticed. My verdict for now is that it's a promising product. I didn't expect that the results would be THIS fast, although I have to admit that I am not yet satisfied with them.

I'm already halfway through my second week and I'll update everyone if it has finally put an end to my eternal problem.
