Product: HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13 Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) Hi, having my (2 months old) laptop 100% battery, I put it on sleep mode overnight, but the next morning it has 0% battery. I looks like it has been turned on the whole night. I have tried old fixes from old posts.. no USB is connected, apparently no activity when sleeping (no noises), but it keeps warm ... strange! ... it was not happening before, I don't know if it was a windows update or HP drivers update .. but no new software installed on my side. Please help... this laptop is completely uselss when I'm traveling or just after long driving ... Solved! Go to Solution. Tags (3)

@jccaman It COULD be a Windows Update issue as folks are reporting hotter CPUs with recent updates, implying that the processors are being kept busy. It could also be that hybrid-sleep, as set by FastStartup, is the culprit. This is different from Fast Boot, which is a BIOS/UEFI option. If it does not, as in my laptop, you would have to consider completely shutting it down when not in use. I know that makes startup longer, but slower starting is better than a dead laptop. ***If my post helped, click the thumbs-up symbol to say thanks*** ***Please mark Accept As Solution if my post solved your problem*** I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP Was this reply helpful? Hi WAWood, As mentioned, i have already tried several comments and recommendations from old posts.. the one you are mentioning has been recommended widely before for problems similar to mine.. in my case it didn't work. I still have the problem happening.. Just to remark that, in my case, the problem is only reproduced in sleep mode and NOT when the laptop is turned off. I have already almost 2 weeks with this problem.. it's really problematic!! I usually have continuous work to do and I simply can't keep saving closing programs and documents (sometimes up to 15) just because my HP laptop's sleep mode is useless. Hope someone can help. Hello everyone, Just to let you know that after my last post, I contacted HP support, they helped me remote (an agent called Naveed), so he upgrade the Bios manually and then upgraded windows. After all the process I've been testing my laptop (and drove for an hour) on sleep mode, and found that the battery is only 1 percent less since the time a put it to sleep. Beside the laptop is not warm as it used to be when the problem appeared. So, promising. I will test tonight with longer permanency on sleep mode and let you know, hopefully, confirming the issue was solved. Thanks Naveed. Was this reply helpful?
