So sánh camera raw vs lightroom

RAW: nếu bạn chụp chế độ RAW thì máy ảnh sẽ lưu mọi thông tin nhận được từ sensor thành file, gần như không xử lý gì thêm, vì vậy dữ liệu hình ảnh của bạn còn nguyên si không mất mát đi đâu cả. Khi mở file RAW bằng phần mềm xử lý ảnh (lightroom, camera raw) thì các phần mềm này tự độ chọn các thông số cho bức ảnh (wb,exposure, brightness, contrast...) vì vậy hình thường nhìn không đẹp. Bạn dễ dàng chỉnh lại các thông số này để đạt được bức ảnh mình muốn (chắc chắn là tốt hơn rất nhiều file JPG do máy tự sinh ra). Bạn chỉ cần chỉnh 1 lần, các phần mềm này sẽ tạo ra 1 file XML để lưu các thông số lại, lần sau mở lên hình vẫn sáng đẹp như lần trước mình chỉnh. Do file RAW lưu gần như tất cả thông tin nhận được từ sensor nên Dynamic Range của hình rất lớn, bạn sẽ dễ dàng cứu những bức ảnh bị cháy sáng hoặc quá tối. Chụp RAW chỉ có nhược điểm là kích thước file lớn (do lưu hết lại thông tin), còn lại không có nhược điểm gì khác.

JPG, JPEG:nếu chọn chụp ra JPG thật ra là mình đang nhờ phần mềm của máy ảnh xử lý giúp (xác định WB, exposure, brightness, contrass, sharpen, noise reduce...vv), cuối cùng tạo ra file nén dạng JPG chỉ lưu các thông tin đủ để hiển thị bức ảnh như ta thấy. Nếu ta có nhu cầu phục hồi vùng cháy sáng hay quá tối thì phải dựa nhiều vào thuật toán của phần mềm xử lý ảnh, nói chung là sẽ không kéo các thông số ảnh nhiều như ở file RAW.

Kết luận là, hình JPG bạn đang xem là kết quả đã xử lý của máy ảnh. Còn hình RAW bạn đang xem là do phần mềm xử lý ảnh chọn tự động, bạn dễ dàng chỉnh lại các thông số để có kết quả tốt hơn file JPG do máy sinh ra. Ngày xưa do tốc độ ghi của thẻ chậm và bộ xử lý + bộ nhớ đệm của máy yếu/ít nên chúng ta còn lăn tăn lựa chọn giữa RAW và JPG. Nếu bạn đang sở hữu những máy ảnh gần đây thì cứ RAW hoặc RAW + JPG nếu thích. Thật ra nếu đang dùng Lightroom thì bạn chỉ cần RAW là đủ, cần ra JPG để gửi khách hàng thì export ra JPG là xong (trước đây chụp RAW khó duyệt ảnh lắm).

Nếu sự kiện không quá quan trọng và bạn tin vào khả năng chụp ảnh của mình thì không nhất thiết phải chụp ảnh RAW (chụp RAW tốn chổ lưu trữ quá). Ngược lại, những bức ảnh quan trọng, đòi hỏi sẽ hậu kỳ nhiều, bạn chụp RAW cho chắc ăn. Chúng ta dễ dàng chuyển qua lại giữa 2 chế độ mà.

2. Lightroom, Camera RAW, Photoshop, Adobe Bridge

Mọi tính năng xử lý ảnh trong Lightroom đều có thể làm được bằng Photoshop vậy khi đã dùng Photoshop có cần cài thêm lightroom không? Thật ra Lightroom ngoài tính năng xử lý ảnh, còn là phần mềm quản lý ảnh rất tốt. Nếu so sánh có thể xem Lightroom = Camera RAW + Adobe Bridge.

Photoshop đi sâu vào xử lý chi tiết, nó có thể làm được mọi thứ. Các tính năng như Layer, Blend Mode, Layer Mask, Filter giúp xử lý ảnh linh hoạt và dễ dàng hơn rất nhiều. Tuy nhiên Photoshop không có tính năng duyệt và quản lý ảnh.

Nói về xử lý ảnh Lightroom = Camera RAW. Camera RAW là phần mềm đọc và chỉnh ảnh RAW trước khi đưa vào Photoshop xử lý. Khi có phiên bản mới của Camera RAW, Lightroom cũng sẽ có phiên bản mới tương ứng. Do vậy nếu chỉ học xử lý ảnh bằng Lightroom, bạn hoàn toàn có thể dùng Camera RAW để thay thế (giống 99.99%). Cả hai phần mềm đều có khả năng xử lý hàng loạt, tuy nhiên do Lightroom có thêm tính năng quản lý ảnh nên việc xử lý hàng loạt dễ và trực quan hơn nhiều.

Lightroom có xóa bỏ Adobe Bridge không? Cho đến bây giờ thì chưa, Lightroom không cho duyệt ảnh trực tiếp mà phải import trước (thật ra đây là tính năng rất hay nhưng nhiều người không thích) nên nhiều người vẫn thấy thoải mái khi dùng Adobe Bridge để duyệt ảnh, chỉnh sửa tổng quan bằng Camera RAW trước khi xử lý bằng Photoshop.

Tóm lại, nếu các bạn chỉ muốn chỉnh màu, ánh sáng đúng cho ảnh, blend màu cơ bản thì chỉ cần dùng Lightroom là đủ. Các bạn thích các tính năng xử lý ảnh nâng cao như cắt, ghép thì dùng thêm Photoshop. Về xử lý ảnh thì Camera RAW giống Lightroom.

Lightroom is a more focused and curated experience that begins with importing your photos into its environment, and Bridge lets you find images anywhere on your machine or hard drives and go to work on them where they are. This means that Lightroom is better suited for photographers who want a more organized and streamlined workflow, while Camera RAW is better suited for those who want more flexibility in their editing.

Batch Editing

Another significant difference between Lightroom and Camera RAW is batch editing. Lightroom makes it simple to sync edits across photos. This drastically cuts down editing time for photographers who shoot and deliver tons of files to their clients, like wedding photographers. While it is possible to make batch edits in Adobe Camera RAW, it’s much less streamlined and efficient.

Integration with Photoshop

While both Lightroom and Camera RAW can be used as standalone programs, they are also designed to work seamlessly with Photoshop. From both Lightroom and Adobe Camera RAW, you can open an image in Photoshop as a smart object. Smart Objects allow you to revisit and make changes to your raw edit within a layer structure using the Adobe Camera RAW filter inside Photoshop.
