Today’s video is from Heather Nichols and she is sharing this beautiful desktop calendar and matching card set that she created with a few of the new 2023 calendar products. Watch the video below:

In the video, Heather shares the new Clipboard Calendar Cards – In the Word set. She foiled the printed cards with Silver Deco Foil using a Minc machine (a heat laminator works to foil as well) and colored the floral images on the cards using Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils, and Gamsol to blend the colored pencil. The panel for the desktop calendar has a background stamped with the Diagonal Diamonds Background stamp and features a Calendar Card at the top and a 2023 Mini Tear-Off Calendar at the bottom that is adhered to layers of cardstock cut out with the new Mini Tear-Off Calendar Stacklets die collection. Heather also shares how she created a set of cards using a few of the Calendar Cards from the Clipboard Calendar Cards – In the Word set.

The Walnut Wood Clipboard Stand is the base for the desktop calendar and you simply clip the calendar panel to the stand using the clip at the top. Heather chose one Calendar Card to display year round, but you could use magnets, velcro, or the clip at the top of the stand to swap out cards throughout the year too. Each month, the calendar can be changed by simply tearing off the page from the previous month!

While the Calendar Cards were designed for our calendar collection at TE, you can use them to create cards as well! Heather added the cards to backgrounds stamped with the Diagonal Diamonds Background stamp and she framed the design using the largest frame from the Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate die.

The desktop calendar and a matching set of cards would make a great gift idea!

Check out the list below for the supplies that Heather used on this project:

Jen Shults is sharing a sampling of pages that she created using the Perpetual Occasions Calendar and Floral Vines Layering Stencils set. I love the shading details that she added to the stenciled flowers and greenery using Copic markers! Jen added the names of the special people in her life onto her calendar pages on their birthdays so she can easily make card making plans for each month to celebrate. Use the Perpetual Occasions Calendar to mark birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events in your life!

Check out all of the different variations and looks that she created by changing out the colors and flower/vine combinations! Use pastel ink tones for springtime colors, brighter ink colors for the summer, and deeper jewel tone ink colors for autumn and winter months.

Jill Hawkins used the Floral Vines Layering Stencils set to create this cheerful Mini Slim card. Jill used the stencils to add a colorful floral border on the card background. Use Bitty Blender Brushes and/or something to mask the stencil openings to better control where your color goes when you stencil detailed designs. The background is cut out with a Stitched Mini Slim Stacklets die, layered onto a Petite Scallop Mini Slim Stacklets die cut, and added to a Mini Slim card base. The sentiment put together with the Building Blocks – Be Bright stamp is embossed in white on Oreo cardstock and cut out with the Building Blocks die.

Kavya created an all over background design with the Floral Vines Layering Stencils set to create this Mother’s Day card. The stencil designs are added in a diagonal line pattern and then Kavya went back and filled in the open spaces with additional single flowers from the stencils. I love all of Kavya’s white gel pen details, including highlights on the flowers and the polka dot patterns in the background. The sentiment is put together with the ‘sending love’ sentiment from the Love & Hugs stamp set and the ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ sentiment from the Mini Strips – You’re the Best stamp.

How fun are these rainbow inspired mini calendars created by Emily Mydlowski?! Emily created the colorful backgrounds using the Easy Strips dies (1/8″, 1/4″, and 1/2″). The 2023 Mini Tear-Off Calendars are added to the backgrounds on layers of cardstock cut out with the Mini Tear-Off Calendar Stacklets dies and the smallest die cut from that die collection is the perfect landing spot for the cute images that Emily added from the Bitty Borders stamp set (+ coordinating dies).
