Knobbytires69·2y optimally, you want close to 100% for gpu usage, so that means ur fully using your GPU, but that also means you can upgrade the GPU to get better gaming performance. Even while playing the same game your utilization can fluctuate due to foliage, draw distance, explosions, and lots of characters rendering in compared to when you're in a building and not a lot is going on. 100% GPU usage is easy to get, just set everything to ultra! Don't actually do that, but you get what I mean. Your settings should be increased or decreased until your in game FPS is just above your monitor's refresh rate, and then you should cap your FPS at the refresh rate to eliminate screen tearing. aqian1·2y So it fluctuation normal for gpu usage? I have heard that consistent 100% gpu usage is pretty hard to get and varies greatly on the game played. Knobbytires69·2y of course when you're playing games some scenes can be very easy for the gpu to render and your cpu may not be fast enough to pump out frames, which may explain the drops to 60% gpu utilization.
